German politician warns Israel not to commit “democratic suicide”

Israeli officials were advised Tuesday against the construction of more settlements in the West Bank by a senior member of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Conservative party, reported Reuters.Ruprecht Polenz, the head of German Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee said that if Israel continued its settlements, then Israel runs the risk "of gradually committing suicide as a democratic state.”
